REPTON PUB GIVEN BEST FOOD EXPERIENCE AWARD

A Derbyshire pub has been recognised for delivering the best food experience to East Midlands customers. Burton-based Punch Taverns, the largest pub company in the UK, has awarded The Bull's Head, in High Street, Repton, with a 2008 Shine Award, which commends exceptional pubs from its 8,400-strong estate.
Licensees Richard and Loren Pope won the Best Food Experience category and were presented with their award at a ceremony held at the Lakeside, Nottingham.
The Bull's Head fought off competition from 12 other regional finalists, who had been short-listed from more than 1,000 pubs, nominated from all over the UK. Mr Pope said: "We're very pleased to win this award, and with us only being open since May last year it was a surprise." As well as their trophy, Mr and Mrs Pope also received a £500 gift voucher.
